ARTS WEDNESDAY

Arts Wednesday 27 November 2013

In the first half hour I continue with my ongoing quest to find and understand unusual musical instruments and this week I speak to Tommy Andersson, theorbo player with the Brandenburg Orchestra and the Ludovico’s Band: a great instrument with a great history and I know you will enjoy the conversation and the music!

At 11:00 am I’ll play an interview I recorded with Rachel Kent, Senior Curator at MCA, about The War is Over (If you want it), a solo exhibition by controversial artist Yoko Ono. If you were ever inclined to dismiss Yoko as an inferior artist who grabbed the limelight through her marriage to John Lennon, well think again!

Music in the first half-hour will feature theorbo music and thereafter, Yoko Ono, John Lennon and music they made together.

Do join me – I look forward to your company!
