Miss Renee Simone is about to Roar

ROAR is the debut solo album for the former ‘Blackbirds’ singer, and was preceded by the single ‘You Are Beautiful’, one of the 10 most played tracks at Independent Radio for several weeks earlier this month.

Since stepping out as a solo artist at Adelaide Fringe Festival in early 2013 Miss Renee Simone has garnered a reputation for having a voice that draws you into her smooth sound and captivating style. ROAR is about women finding their place, women who rise to a challenge, women who are still working it out, and women who refuse to give up. After listening to the album Bernard Fanning stated “if honey had a sound it would be the voice of Miss Renee Simone” while 4ZZZ called it “a rootsy, smooth collection of soul and R&B from Jamaican-born, Byron Bay-based vocalist Miss Renee Simone. Simone’s songs are delivered with a relaxed, back-porch elegance that recalls both classic vocal jazz and the egalitarian vibes of Blue King Brown or Mama Kin.”

Miss Renee Simone and band will be launching ROAR in Sydney on December 7 at Blue Beat in Double Bay.
