So Frenchy So Chic in the Park – and talking to Forever French

SFSC in the park 2014

This January 18, don’t miss out “So Frenchy So Chic in the Park with the best French vibes for 2014, presented in association with Sydney Festival.

Like any good garden party, “So Frenchy So Chic in the Park” allows you to picnic at St John’s College, Camperdown (near Sydney University), pick up a gourmet hamper, play pétanque, do some face painting, and most importantly kick off your shoes for some barefoot dancing on the grass.
The event is family friendly with children under 12 welcome for free.

This year, “So Frenchy So Chic in the Park” will feature “la crème de la crème” of the French singers with Lilly Wood & the Prick, Féfé and Babylon Circus.

The duo of Lilly Wood & the Prick already have a huge fan base – including the ForeverFrench team-, with their playful and intelligent pop seeing both of their albums go gold and win them the Best New Act award at the French Grammys. If you don’t know them yet, you will love them for sure.

Féfé (the former singer of Saïan Supa Crew) turned the Australian audience wild at So Frenchy So Chic in the Park 2012 and at WOMADelaide 2011. This soulful troubadour comes back this year with his new album “Le charme des premiers jours”, a mix of hip hop, blues, reggae and RnB. Whether he’s playing it cool or dancing up a storm, Féfé always seduces audiences with his sheer talent, undeniable charisma and unstoppable energy.

Babylon Circus, a 10-piece ska and rock band from Lyon, will be part of the garden party to present their new album “Never Stop”. Created in 1995, the band has performed more than a 1,000 times in 25 diferent countries. You may have enjoyed their gig at 2010 WOMADelaide. Singing in French and English, and mixing some raucous punk and swing into their epic sound, this energetic and theatrical group never fails to get people up and dancing – sometimes even on the stage.

Eastside Radio and ForeverFrench are very proud to have interviewed some of these talented artists and to share these good vibes with you.

Don’t miss out the interview of Féfé this Wednesday, January 8 on 89.7 fm from 8 to 9.30 pm

and try to win a ticket to attend So French So Chic in the Park.

Relisten to Babylon Circus’s interview (Wednesday, January 1).

LAST UPDATE 08/01/14
Unfortunately, Lou Doillon who was supposed to be part of the program won’t make it to Australia due to medical reasons. Message to the fans: “It is a heart-breaking decision (to cancel). I was really looking forward to visiting Australia for the first time but unfortunately my medical condition makes it impossible to travel. I really hope to be able to come back later.”
As a consequence,  and for our most delighted ears, Lilly Wood & The Prick, Fefe and Babylon Circus will have extended sets and there will be a special collaboration between Babylon Circus and Fefe. Also on the bill is Edward Deer, who will open the day with songs from the highly acclaimed Mélodie Française.
