Taikodeck + Roger vs. The Man @ The Basement
Taikodeck – Australia’s leading taiko drumming group, TaikOz, combines with prominent Melbourne DJ/Producer, Max Royce-Hampton in TaikoDeck.
This visually spectacular show features an impressive array of taiko drums and percussion instruments. TaikoDeck is a joint collaboration between brothers Max and Tom Royce-Hampton (TaikOz member) , with the vision of fusing East and West styles resulting in a performance not just for eyes and ears , but felt through the entire body!
Roger vs. The Man – Brainchild of lead-singer, guitarist , composer and producer Roger Lock, Roger vs. The Man is renowned for its intricately powerful synthesis of rock , jazz and classical elements. The band’s debut album ‘Black Pearl’ is an opus that features tracks from the politically charged to the velvety romantic. United under one banner, Roger vs. The Man delivers an epic show.

City of Sydney Lawn Library
Welcome to the city’s newest village! The Sydney Festival Village in Hyde Park comes alive with an array of free and ticketed events for everyone to enjoy.
Nestled amongst the trees find the City of Sydney’s Lawn Library, an oasis of calm and the perfect chill-out zone for the whole family during a big day at the Festival.
Sit down and enjoy children’s rhymetime, twilight storytime or late night readings, and participate in some fun, creative workshops.
Bookshelves will house hundreds of books, free for you to loan, keep or share. Bring a coffee, take a seat at our long communal table and talk, read or relax.
Beat the heat, take the weight off your feet and learn more about what’s great about our city.

Kite Flying Festival – Sydney 2014
Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Sydney is a community based non-profit Organisation that has provided community services since 1996, and have more than 800 devotees. They organise various functions such as Diwali Unkut Utsav, Janmashtmi, Kite Festival, Satsang Sabha’s, Kids Education and Spiritual developments among others.
Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Sydney has been organising the Kite festival since 1999, when it started in Fagan Park with large numbers of families coming to fly kites and enjoy the competition. For three years it moved to Parramatta Park, and then to Blacktown Showground where a huge area was available for kids, young boys and girls, and men and women of any age for fee.
In order to increase the value of the festival and the number of attendees, this year’s festival will be held at Fairfield Showground, with much improved facilities. More than 4000 people attended the Kite Festival last year.

Sustainable Fishing Clinic
Learn sustainable fishing practices through a combination of instruction and practical experience. Enjoy learning how to select your bait, general rigging, good casting techniques and recognition of fish species. Have fun casting your line using lures and baits and learn the correct way to handle fish for successful catch and release.
