A Taste Of Honey January 9 2014
The music of the Everly Brothers is acknowledged to have influenced many successful musicians including The Beatles, who famously once referred to themselves as the “English Everly Brothers”.The vocal arrangement of ‘Please Please Me’ was based on the song ‘Cathy’s Clown’.Despite 10 years when they did not speak to each other and went their separate ways,Don & Phil through the help of Albert Lee got back together again in 1983 at a reunion concert at the Royal Albert Hall and subsequent recordings from EB’84,returned them to the US Hot 100.35 Top 100 singles(26 in the Top 40),the most Top 100 singles by any duo, twelve Top 40 albums between 1960 and 2009.There is music for all in their legacy – country, rock’n’roll, traditional folk, standards and holding it all together is the UNSURPASSED HARMONY that only siblings are able to achieve-in this case The Everly Brothers-RIP Phil.
