Arts Wednesday 22 January 2014

Ed Lippmann continues with Part 5 of Sydney By Design and this week talks about the redevelopment of the AMP site at Circular Quay.

My special guests at 11:00 am are Kirsten Thorpe and Ronald Briggs from the Indigenous Unit of the State Library of NSW, who recorded an interview with me earlier this week and our conversation is about the language revitalisation project at the library. This has taken place as a result of detective-style research into 14kms of original colonial manuscripts, which have uncovered details of 100 ancestral indigenous languages, many of which were considered lost.

Music will feature indigenous artists and  music, from The Sapphires to William Barton playing Concerto for Didgeridoo by Sean O’Boyle.

I do hope you can keep me company!
