“When I sing,I Believe.I’m honest.”Frank Sinatra.In 1957,Frank Sinatra signed one of the most lucrative (US$3.0million)deals in television history with ABC.The network aired the show on Friday nights and the sponsors were Bulova Watch Company and Chesterfield cigarettes.It debuted on October 18,1957 and never quite lived up to Sinatra’s or the viewers high hopes and the series lasted only one season BUT left us with priceless duets in which Frank Sinatra sang with many of the top performers of the era.From left to right above-Frank with a very young Nancy,Peggy Lee,himself and Elvis Presley.Todays show includes many of those duets/medleys that have never been released on audio and were the result of his collaborations on his TV shows or other ABC specials.Thanks to Capitol Records, they have included these hilights on a bonus disc which is included in the Sinatra Duets Twentieth Anniversary package.Thanks to technology we can listen to Frank with Dinah Shore,Shirley Jones,Lena Horne,Louis Armstrong,Elvis Presley,George Strait,Tanya Tucker,Louis Prima,Dean Martin and Nancy Sinatra-Its always a great pleasure to bring you the MAGIC that is Francis Albert Sinatra on Eastside89.7fm particularly on “A Taste Of Honey.”
