As an adept clarinettist and composer, the third album by this talented musician combines elements of jazz with hip-hop, Indian classical and folk, western classical, rock, pop and avant-garde – creating a sound that is multi-dimensional and riveting.

Born in Calcutta but raised in the British streets of Bolton, Manchester and now London, there are striking worldly undertones within his music that reflect the various experiences Ghosh had growing up. In musical adventures through various incarnations, Ghosh has worn many suits, including his clarinet skills leading the Arun Ghosh Horn E Bass Quintet as well as the Arun Ghosh Indo-Jazz Sextet. He has taken the London Jazz Festival stage so many times now that the hallowed festival has become like a second home to him, showcasing the best that the British jazz scene has to offer.

A South Asian Suite has garnered rave reviews, with the website Marlbank describing the album as abreath of fresh air”, and  All About Jazz scribe Bruce Lindsay stating:

“There’s plenty of jazz around today that makes the head nod with admiration, but too little that makes the heart leap with joy. A South Asian Suite makes the heart leap.”
