Dubious Blues Trio – Dubious Blues Trio
Eastside Radio’s Album of the Week is the self-titled debut by Dubious Blues Trio.
From the depths of our skyscraper city, there comes a quirky, bluesy kind of vibe from these of highly accomplished musicians. Preferring to steer clear of any definitive genre, guitarist Cameron Henderson, bassist Elsen Price and alternating drummers Tully Ryan and Zeke Ruckman are out to craft a sound to both baffle and impress their audience.
Thus their self-titled debut EP was born. Starting with a foundation of blues, the boys work to delve into the very recesses of their imagination – allowing their music to twist and turn into different corners of the musical scope. This can be no more apparent than looking at songs such as third track Monstrous Moustache, which holds an affliction with a harder rock vibe; fourth track Fixy And Your Haircut which with the appearance of a furious banjo gives the air of a hoedown; and sixth track Bigger Than The Mammoth, which veers everywhere from country vibes to jazz, bop and slight swing undertone.
It’s roaring, rowdy and undoubtedly rapid, the self-titled album by Sydney’s Dubious Blues Trio is a heart-starting collection to get you in that motivated state. Tune in to Eastside Radio 89.7FM to hear snippets from this fantastic album and for your chance to win a copy.
