Buddy Guy with special guest Charlie Musselwhite at the Opera House

Don’t miss the opportunity to see Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall-of-famer, six-time Grammy winner, and guitar hero to Jimi Hendrix, the legendary Buddy Guy make his Opera House debut on Saturday, April the 19th.   On one of his final tours, Buddy Guy will be on stage with full band.  Also appearing will be special guest harp-wielding heavyweight, Charlie Musselwhite.

Fuelling the fire and flash of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Keith Richards with the high drama of Chicago’s electric blues, six-time Grammy Award winner and Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall-of-Famer Buddy Guy celebrates 60 years on stage in one of his last Australian visits – a double-trouble Opera House debut with harmonica legend Charlie Musselwhite, master collaborator to the likes of INXS (‘Suicide Blonde’), Tom Waits (‘Chocolate Jesus’) and Ben Harper, last heard together on their full-length collaboration, 2013’s Get Up!

Wielding heart-pounding heroics long before Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck, Buddy Guy has scorched audiences worldwide with his signature polka dot guitar and age-defying spirit – unleashing free-fall guitar leaps, behind-the-back playing and strolling solos to the backseats! Armed with nearly 30 albums and recent recordings with next-gen heroes such as Keith Urban and Gary Clark Jr., the Louisiana native has proved a true journeyman since the halcyon days of Chess Records, hitting stride with his ’91 breakthrough Damn Right I Got the Blues.

Supported by life-long friend, 27-time Blues Music Award winner and Blues Hall of Fame inductee Charlie Musselwhite with his full band, Buddy Guy and the gang will rev the Concert Hall into a hot house of classic songwriting, howling solos and timeless charm steeped in American tradition.
