Strata Skills 101 – Yours, Mine and Ours
What can you renovate and which renovations and repairs are the responsibility of the strata?
The Yours, Mine and Ours; repairs and renovations workshop will focus on
• maintenance to individual lots;
• implications of by-laws;
• processes for repairs and renovations in both common area and individual lots; and
• the different insurance types required for strata schemes.
This workshop will provide participants with information and a case study that will highlight the importance of understanding strata by-laws, considering your neighbours, understanding what is common property, care of the common property, alteration of common property by an individual owner and what owners can actually do within a strata lot that does not require approval from either the strata or local council.
Gain a basic understanding of administration and sinking fund levies, why they are important, what they each are for. Learn about the types of insurance policies necessary to protect the building and the people who live and work in it.
Strata Skills 101 workshops have something for everyone.

Kids Watercolour Painting Workshop at Sew Make Create

Kids and Teens Beginners Sewing School Holiday Course at Sew Make Create
Run in conjunction with school holidays, this 3 class course is the perfect introduction to the sewing machine for a young and budding sewer!
They will learn all the basics and get lots of sewing practice to build their confidence. This course covers learning about all the parts and features of a sewing machine, how to set up the machine, using different stitches and and how to solve common sewing machine problems.
Sewing techniques that will be covered include hemming and finishing raw edges to create the final sewing project – a simple tote bag!
The course fee includes all materials and a Sewer’s Starter Kit valued atRRP$17.00, made up of a new pair of scissors, thread clippers, dress pins, tape measure, hand sewing needles, black thread and white thread.
This course is taught on Janome sewing machine model MW3018 (mechanical) or you are welcome to bring your own sewing machine.
