Dial Afrika Special Guest – Beatrice Mtetwa

9am Wednesday, join PJ for a very special event on Dial Afrika – a visit from Zimbabwean human rights lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa.

Beatrice is in Sydney for two high-profile events this week, and has found the time to come into the Eastside studios to tell us her story.

From the Union Aid Abroad – APHEDA website: “In spite of intimidation and beatings by police, Beatrice has courageously defended those jailed by the Mugabe government – peace activists, trade unionists, journalists, opposition candidates, farmers that had their land confiscated, and ordinary citizens that had the courage to speak up.”

On Thursday Mtetwa will give the annual public lecture at the Australian Human Rights Centre.

Friday’s event will include a screening of an hour-long documentary, Beatrice Mtetwa and the Rule of Law, directed by Lorie Conway.
