More Aircraft Noise for Sydney

/a>

More big aircraft taking off add to Sydney’s aircraft noise

As one of the great cities of the world, Sydney is unusual in having an airport so close to the city itself. Great for catching flights but not so great if you live under the flight paths. The airport has recently been in the news because it has never met its targets for restricting the number of noisy flights over the areas to its north and east, some of the main areas where people live. Thursday Drive’s Mick Paddon spoke with Pat Thorne from the No Aircraft Noise organisation about the airport’s noise targets, and what the city’s residents in the western, northern and eastern suburbs can look forward to in the future.
