Comedy Court Stand Up Competition

Described as "12 Angry Men, only funnier", join as six new comics compete along with a special guest for cash and prizes in the cities audience voted comedy show. You decide the winner using digital voting pads.

Max Dupain: The Paris 'Private' Series and Other Pictures

Continuing until the 31st August, view the elegance of Paris through a series of never before released photographs from Australian photographer Max Dupain's 1978 trip to the French capital, shown here alongside complementary works from the Gallery's collection.

Amazing whales: Evolution and Survival @ National Maritime Museum

OzHarvest Think.Eat.Save- Reduce Your Foodprint

Food rescue organisation OzHarvest and the United Nations Environment Program are creating a pop-up Garden of Goodness in Martin Place, where Sydneysiders are encouraged to pick up a free hot lunch created from produce that would otherwise have become landfill. Rescued tagines, pilaf, soup and homemade lemonade will be available in the marketplace.

Dr Sketchy's @ The Arthouse

The Arthouse hotel is home to the original Sydney burlesque drawing classes, held fortnightly on Tuesdays. This is a life-drawing class with a twist – the models are burlesque performers (with a couple of performances thrown in) and the drinks are free-flowing, so you can either come for the art or just for the shows and the ambiance. BYO drawing materials, or grab a kit on the night for a mere $5.

Art After Hours @ Art Gallery of NSW

Every Wednesday evening, the Art Gallery of NSW welcomes you into its hallowed halls and throws the ultimate in absolutely free mid-week social and cultural events.

Until 10pm, Art After Hours offers a regular programme of live music, lectures and celebrity talks, drawing workshops, film screenings, gallery tours and other events – and, of course, nocturnal access to its latest exhibitions.
