Sounds Of Soul chronicles: Luc-key as

Omni

Last weeks edition of Sounds Of Soul radio show was in more than one way very memorable. First of all I was lucky enough to have Adelaide’s top DJ Todd Cavender as special guest again, who’s excellent taste in all things Soul shine wherever he spins his incredible eclectic selections of rare records. Secondly The Northern Soul Poster Boy saved my day in taking over to kick off the show after I couldn’t find my set of keys on arrival at Eastside Radio, which not only contains the key to the station but also the ones for my house. I figured that I must have left the keys at home, most likely dangling at the front door, so I was very keen to get to the house and sort out the situation before someone started to help himself with the content, most notably my precious vinyl. Luckily nobody had taken the opportunity as I found out after a swift drive home and after locking everything I was back at the Eastside headquarters having just missed the first fifteen minutes of Sounds Of Soul. Thanks to The Northern Soul Poster Boy and Todd Sounds Of Soul was in full swing anyhow and continued so with the usual mix of great Rare Soul music and relentless banter that make shows with those two involved so entertaining. And here’s what I had selected (first four record played by the Poster Boy, Todd set to come soon):

Timmy Thomas/You’re The Song (I’ve Always Wanted To Sing)/7″ Glades

The Firebolts/Everybody Party (Get Down)/7″ Greenback

Joneses/I Can’t See What You See In Me/7″ Mercury

Mind & Matter/I’m Under Your Spell/7″ m&m

Klaś – Larry Jackson – Ricky Gaddis/Let’s Make Love Tonight/7″ Sahara

Bill Brandon/You Made My Life So Bright/7″ Prelude

Isaac Hayes/Moonlight Lovin’ (Menage A Trois)/7″ Polydor

Flakes/Miss Fine Lover/7″ Source

The Salsoul Orchestra featuring Loleatta Holloway/Run Away/7″ Salsoul

Barbara St Clair/Teacherman/7″ Crosseyed Bear

Jerry Weaver/Love Sick Child/7″ S.O.B.
