The Secret of Close Encounters Lie Buried Down Under

Arts Monday’s Jane Raffan interviews Josh Bryer on his sci-fi short film Kindred – the first sci-fi film to star Indigenous Australians.

The teaser: a cynical young Indigenous Australian and his family are abducted by aliens. Leading them on a breathtaking escape he discovers the aliens’ origins, shattering his worldview forever …

The tech: Kindred has incredibly sophisticate visual effects, and a pace that leaves the viewer crying out for more!

Josh Bryer is the film’s writer, producer and post supervising director.  Hear about the film’s background and the film-making process, which has been a three year journey. Kindred is Bryer’s debut film, made in his spare time while holding down a day job in advertising, where he’s an Associate Creative Director of M&C Saatchi, Sydney. It’s about to hit the festival circuit and he hopes its success will lead to a feature-length film.
