A Foot In The Door

My name is Remi Levinson and I am a Year 10 student and I began attending SCEGGS Darlinghurst at the start of this year.

Here is a picture of me!

This week I am undergoing work experience at Eastside FM Radio Station. I chose to do work experience here as I am interested in the music industry and feel as though radio is a key aspect within it. I like looking into what happens behind the scenes with artists and following their story as they become more successful in their field.

I think that radio is really important for artists in the music industry because through getting radio play artists can reach a wider audience, and I think that this is part of the reason a lot of people become successful in this business. Without radio stations it would be a lot harder for new artists to become successful, as there would be very limited ways for people to find out about them.

I think that music is something that is important to everyone as it is a way for people who are in very different circumstances to connect, because a song may relate to both their situations. I think that I would like to be involved in music and radio in the future and I feel that after this week I will have a much better understanding of how the production of radio works.

Here is a song I listened to on the weekend that I really liked…
