Pictured from left to right…Caro Emerald, Lana del Rey ,Inga Lilijestrom, Frank Shiner, and Sam Smith – all newcomers to the world of popular music in the last three years and all have a very impressive sales,awards and chart history globally that made me decide to showcase their talent today for you and then leave it to up you to make your own mind up as to next steps for your music collections. In addition I  also programmed  3 tracks from Vince Jones’ new album recorded at Monash University. These artistes perform songs that they have written,co written with other emerging and talented writers as well as songs written by Elvis Costello, Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits and Jule Styne.From atmospheric, moody, introspective songs through to traditional songs and then to up tempo pop and also jazz ,the music is unbelievable and playing three tracks from each artiste will enable you to listen, enjoy (or Not) as the case may be but in all this music, there is I believe the feeling that our listening future whatever the genre may be, is in extremely good hands !!!I chose the tracks and the artistes because I really like them- I hope you do too.
