Rosehip oil is a fruit oil extracted from the hip (or fruit) of the rose. At Araucana we use the Rosa Mosqueta variety of rosehip oil, a premium organic oil extracted from a wild rose grown in Chile.
The unique properties of Rosa Mosqueta rosehip oil were discovered through a research project conduced by the University of Concepcion in Chile in 1983. The research team found that the oil had a positive action in the regeneration of skin, specifically when it came to surgical, traumatic and burn scars, as well as prematurely aged skin.
At Araucana we do not bleach, fragrance or colour our rosehip oil. Of course, we could do these things to make our oil more attractive to the commercial market, but if we did, we’d be risking the loss of important vitamins and essential fatty acids- and we’d never choose product beauty over real beauty benefits!
Rosehip oil is absolutely a wonder product- in fact it’s akin to a multi-vitamin for the skin!
