ARTS WEDNESDAY 24 MARCH 2010

Bliss Jensen joins us at 10:45 am for Now Showing and Andrew Shapiro completes his first series of New Antiques at 10:10 am. What a wonderful addition he is to Arts Wednesday and I am sure we all look forward to welcoming back Ed Lippmann next week for a new series of Sydney By Design.

My special guest this week is Xenz, graffiti artist from UK whose exhibition Wonderlust is now showing at the Bicker Gallery just near us in Oxford St Paddington. The gallery is unusual – a so-called pop up gallery which will cease to exist in this venue after Wonderlust closes on March 27. Xenz’s art doesn’t look like graffiti as we know it – rather beautiful, even pretty images of Australian birds. He calls it graffitwee! Xenz recorded an interview with me yesterday and I’ll play that at 10:30 am.

Because of Xenz, I’ll be playing music about Australian birds as well as music either from Britain or about it!
