Sounds Of Soul chronicles: SSW countdown
The countdown for this years’ Sydney Soul Weekender has truly started. With little more than a week to go until this annual celebration of Rare Soul which is kicking off on Friday the 29th August. This time around I’m even more looking forward to this highlight for every black music connoisseur, because it pans out to be pretty special with 3 great new venues, solid sound systems and a record-breaking number of DJs, both local and interstate talent. As ever the Sydney Soul Weekender is all about vinyl and DJ culture, the diversity of Soul music and the underground dance scene that is Northern Soul. To cut it short – if you like what’s played on Sounds Of Soul radio and fancy a real good night out, then go and enjoy the SSW 2015. I for one can’t wait.
