What a great year it’s been, since this labour of love for Peter Rechniewski opened its doors, and filled it’s space with night after night of fabulous jazz. Former Artistic Director and co-founder of the Sydney Improvised Music Association (SIMA), Peter is a passionate jazz aficionado dedicated to keeping Australian jazz centre stage and jazz generally on the arts radar. Musicians and audiences have gratefully seized the opportunity.

It’s such a pleasure to have an intimate venue where you can get a drink and great food, and listen to such a range of special artists, who love what they do. And their Jazz Hip Hop Freestyle Sessions late late late on a Friday night have become legendary. Checkout their forthcoming Gig Guide for the current roster of amazing names.

This Thursday 4 September Foundry 616 is celebrating with just the kind of birthday bash you would expect: great jazz, free entry, 8.30pm until late, PLUS 10% off your first drink to the first 50 people!
