Sounds Of Soul chronicles: SSW flashback

It’s been a while since I found time to write my little Sounds Of Soul blog, mainly because I was too busy to organize the Sydney Soul Weekender in close collaboration with The Northern Soul Poster Boy. And what a weekender it was! Full capacity venues on all 3 nights, smiling faces everywhere, superb sets by all DJs and full dance floors throughout. To be honest, it exceeded our wildest expectations in regards of the numbers but even more important was that everybody involved seemed to enjoy themselves. All this was only possible to pull off due to the many people that helped us – be it the many Soul enthusiasts spreading the word, the DJs (some of them traveling from as far as Perth) and the friendly staff at the venues. Special thanks have to go to Radio Eastside producing and airing the great weekender spots as well as the Agent OO Soul for his great support on air and for writing the liner notes for the SSW CD. Still feeling blessed by this experience – and be assured we’ll do it again next year.
