Night Noodle Markets

If it’s Good Food Month, it must be time for the Night Noodle Markets! With all the colour, sounds and smells of an Asian hawker market plus the buzz, hype and vibe of a huge outdoor festival, the Night Noodle Markets is back for 2014 with a record 50 food stalls across Hyde Park.

Obscura / Byron Perry

A new dance solo work by Australian choreographer and performer Byron Perry, Obscura delves into the processes of life and the mechanisms we use to interpret, communicate and make sense of our world.
Presented within a large-scale camera obscura, Perry’s physical exploration brings together natural light and live streams of audio from the surrounding environment to create a unique and unfamiliar performance experience. Multi-award-winning choreographer and performer Byron Perry is Associate Director of Force Majeure.

Visions of Utopia Postcard Workshop

A Sydney festival of mega proportions to tackle urbanism

With large-scale urban projects underway and more in the pipeline in prime locations along Sydney’s harbour foreshore, Sydneysiders have got the right to ask what should its city look like and offer its people in the future. The University of Sydney will stage the first Festival of Urbanism from Wednesday 15 October to start a broader public conversation on how to better plan Sydney for the future.

Japanese Film Festival Classics

After the Italian Film festival, it is now time to discover japanese movies!

These are movies angling away from phallocentric samurai tales and instead focusing on Japanese women, and feature some of the best films to ever hail from Japan. And as usual at the Domain Theatre, they’re absolutely free! Seating limited, so arrive up to 30 minutes ahead to secure seats.
