A Taste Of Honey October 16 2014
GREAT MUSIC NEVER DIES – and thanks to the invention of FM radio particularly in the 70’s to the mid ’80’s this format saw the evolution of a new genre of artistes that used the medium to give us some of the most amazing songs (and production of those songs) that is unsurpassed today. The artistes that feature in this week’s show include (pictured from left to right) – Hall & Oates, Seals & Crofts, Toto, America and Rickie Lee Jones, have sold between them globally, in excess of 200 million albums – that’s quite an achievement, not to mention the vast number of Grammy Awards they have received collectively, together with Gold & Platinum awards all over the world.Their songs gave us the groovy road trips, the cruisy parties, the hazy beach days and the laid back nights we enjoyed all year round during the FM heyday.
This program only touches the surface of the FM genre of music and the artistes that made it work -there are plenty more songs, albums and artistes to come in the future.
Lie back, sit back, stroll or cruise and enjoy this amazing music in addition to the above artistes from Michael McDonald, George Benson, Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina, Boz Scaggs, Michael Franks and more.
