Clovelly Better Block 2014 – Demonstration day

On Sunday 19 October Clovelly Road, with the help of Better Blocks, was transformed into a hub of activity and greenery.

Large trees were installed for the day, as well as stalls, music, face painting, kids’ art and activities.

On thursday October 16, Thursday Drive had a chat with Emily Whitworth in the steering committee about Clovelly Better Block 2014. Tune in, and find out how the community planned to improve their local shopping village in just one day.

In conjunction with this special day, Amnesty International Randwick is hosting a Schools Art Competition on the theme of Home.

Home – What does it mean to you?

School students individually or in groups or classes are invited to submit artworks no greater than A3 in size, in any medium. The artworks will be displayed at the Royal National Literary Institute as part of the Arts Festival in November. Entries must be submitted by 9 November.
