Arts Wednesday 26 November 2014
Today we start a new series on Arts Wednesday entitled Shakespeare in Love with Eastside’s own Anna Kamaralli. She has been coyly hiding her light under the proverbial bushel, with her Ph D on Shakespeare from Trinity College Dublin, where she subsequently taught as well as at other universities both here and in New Zealand. This week, she introduces us to the Bard and his world and, over the next few weeks, will lead us through the various themes of love in his writing.
My special guests at 11:00 am are Barabara Flynn, Curatorial Advisor to the City of Sydney together with Ed Lippmann, talking about public art and plans for public art in Sydney. The image I have included here shows Barbara in Angel Place with one of my favourite pieces of public art in Sydney, Forgotten Songs.
Music is a bit of a mixed bag. During the following weeks while we learn about Shakespeare in Love, I’ll start and finish each show with a great love song. This week, I have a couple of public art tracks, with the rest dedicated to songs about Sydney.
As always, I look forward to your company!
