Jazzgroove Summer Fiesta- Modern meets Metal

This January, Foundry616 will host the Jazzgroove Summer Fiesta – Modern meets Metal where jazz will transform into new and exciting music!

The Fiesta will be held over three nights, featuring the musical stylings of Good ‘Evans, Scoredatura and many more.

Presented by Jazzgroove, a not for profit organisation that promotes high-quality jazz music from the newest jazz artists who want to break into the national and international jazz music scene, the fiesta is set to show jazz lovers a new side of modern jazz.

Starting on Friday the 16th of January and finishing well into the wee hours of Sunday the 18th, the night will begin with a Fiesta Opening to kick off the nights celebrations.

At 8:30pm, one of Sydney’s most auspicious bands Good ‘Evans will be gracing the stage of Foundry616 with their celestrial jazz stylings that draw inspiration from jazz greats such as Kurt Rosenwinkel and Donny McCaslin. This musical group has been described as “some of Sydney’s most promising nebulae” due to their inspiration being drawn from the ‘modern jazz galaxy’.

Following the magical jazz galaxy performance of Good ‘Evans, the Fiesta is going to get heavy!

If you think you know all about jazz, wait till you hear it being played in drop D! The guys from Scoredatura will be shredding up the stage with their incredible original jazz metal songs that bring a heavy metal sound to modern jazz. Their controversial sound is not for the faint hearted, but are sure to fire up the stage!

Late Night Grooves will take over the stage, where Jazz musicians and Hip Hop MC’s will create jazz music for Fiesta goers to end their night with a groove.

The weekend will go on to feature Jazzgoon, Mike Majkowski, Arrow, Mister Ott, the Ben Hauptmann Trio and Gian Slater.

The Fiesta is set to show Sydney a new side of jazz and showcase some of the best new musical talent Sydney has to offer.
