Summer Films under Bondi Stars
Something very exciting is coming to Sydney and it includes two of my favourite things- movies and ice cream!
From 22nd January to 1st March, cinemagoers can make their way to Dolphin Lawn overlooking Bondi Beach and enjoy live music, tasty food, a diverse range of movies and of course Ben and Jerry’s ice cream.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, it does. If you decide to go to the event on a Sunday, you can actually get free ice cream!
Gates open from 6.30pm Tuesday to Friday, 6pm Saturday and 5pm Sunday, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the ice cream and live music before settling down to a film that starts every night at 8.30pm.
There is a wide range of films available to fulfill every film fanatic’s desires. Whether you feel like a cry, a laugh, a soppy moment or a scare, you can get your fix.
A perfect summer evening
A word of advice is to arrive early so you can grab the best spots. There is no reserved seating and you can either bring your own picnic mat (you can bring your own food but not alcohol!) or it is possible to hire bean loungers and deck chairs.
If you are feeling like a little bit of luxury, there are star lounge tickets available and they include reserved bean lounger seating, a warm blanket and a drink.
Tickets are available to book online and they start from $19 and concessions are available.
One thing to bear in mind is that the cinema is of course outdoors and will go ahead in most weather conditions so remember to check the forecast and wrap up warmly or in waterproof clothing if necessary.
