The Crooked Fiddle Band are back in Sydney!

The Crooked Fiddle Band are set to be coming to Sydney to perform this month!

The band features Jess Randall on violin and nyckelharpa, Gordon Wallace on guitar, bouzouki and cittern, Mark Stevens on double bass and Joe Gould on drums and percussion.

They mix blasts of fiery folk with the intense atmosphere and detail of post- and prog-rock, resulting in a multi-layered, complex and ecstatic hybrid they call ‘chainsaw folk’.

Listen to their showreel below:

They are coming to perform at the newly refurbished Basement on February 26th. The band’s performance comes with a twist as they will be playing with an additional 18 extra musicians. The string orchestra will see the band’s fiery instrumental epics expanded into even more cinematic territory,

The orchestral arrangements are part of violinist Michael O’Donnell’s ongoing Pickpockets and Rascals series, which arranges orchestral versions of Australian artists.
