Eastsideradio & Television Sydney

Some of you might ask yourself now, what brings these two different forms of media together?

Well, the anwser is quite easy: we are both community stations with similar aims and values

As an intern of Eastsideradio, I was really excited, spending a day at the office of Television Sydney, located at the University of Western Sydney. Television Sydney is actively working together with students of the University of Western Sydney which distinguish them from other TV channels. Henri de Gorter and his assistance showed me around while explaining me the production process. Television Sydney has an office room, an editing zone, and an advertisement section. They are covering a broad, niche program for all groups of ages, which can’t be found in other broadcast stations. Their program leads from ‘Euromaxx’, a serie all about Europe, over ‘Schlocky Horror Picture Show’ and the news journal to ‘Fishing Downunder’, broadcasted live at Channel 44. Their program changes in order to give the audience a huge diversity and variety, although there are some shows played over 7 years already.
