SOCKS FOR CENTENARY: KNITTING WORKSHOPS

Australia-wide, local organisations, schools, church groups, knitting circles and individuals banded together to undertake the huge task of providing ‘comforts to Australian troops’. More than 1 million pairs of socks were knitted during the war.
As a tribute, the City of Sydney is encouraging people to knit a pair of socks, following the Red Cross 1914 pattern and send them to be a part of ‘Socks for Centenary’. All socks will be donated to the Wayside Chapel, Kings Cross.
