HAWAIIAN VIBES VISITING SYDNEY
Moustache beard, quick-witted humour, surfer boy – we’re talking about Donovan Frankenreiter!
Hawaii-based singer/guitarist/songwriter Donovan Frankenreiter is bringing his infectious, acoustic bliss to Australia. Folk-infused songs sweetly showcase Frankenreiter’s rich, honey-thick vocals and masterful guitar work, bearing all the intimacy of an impromptu back-porch performance, and the tenderness of a treasured love letter. Donovan’s performance is set to be one of the highlights of live music this year – get amongst it!
Soulful, laid-back, chilled music, you can really feel Frankenreiter’s lifestyle melting into his music. He discovered his love for music, his second passion, besides surfing, the day he first tried out a guitar at one of his friend’s houses.
My friend had a guitar leaning up against his couch. He taught me three chords. The rest is history.
Frankenreiter started playing in the group Peanut Butter and Jam at the age of 18. In 1996, he began to seriously pursue a musical career when he formed the band Sunchild, in which he played lead guitar but did not sing.
In 2002, Frankenreiter signed with Brushfire Records. His self-titled solo album, Donovan Frankenreiter, was recorded with co-producer Jack Johnson. The album was released in April 2004 in Australia due to his high profile in this country. He toured Australia in April 2004, helping the album reach the top forty of the ARIA albums chart.
This is sure to be one of the feel-good highlights of 2015 live music. Don’t miss out!
