ARTS WEDNESDAY

Arts Wednesday 18 March 2015

At 10:40 am historian Laila Ellmoos makes a welcome return to Arts Wednesday, with Part 1 of a new series on pocket parks in the City of Sydney.

At 11:00 am, my special guest in the studio is Adam Wishart, Band Pipe Major of the NSW Police Pipe Band and our topic is the bagpipes! Adam brought his pipes into the studio and so we have live music to accompany our conversation. Adam is very tall and when he stood up in our recording studio, his bass drone literally hit the roof, so he played sitting down – a first for him!

When we are not listening to Adam, I’ll be playing music by other instruments which, like the bagpipes, are classifies as aerophones: expect the recorder, piccolo, flute and more.

As always, I do look forward to your company!
