Australia Council Awards – Alysha Herrmann
Australia Council Award recipient, Alysha Herrmann, joined Dr Margaux Dombkins on Arts Monday 16 March 2015. Alysha, a writer, theatre maker and cultural producer received The Kirk Robson Award (Community Arts and Cultural Development).
Alysha uses performance and civic action to inspire individuals and communities to reclaim and reinterpret their personal stories as art and was recently awarded the 2014 Channel 9 Young Achiever Arts Award.
The Kirk Robson Award recognises outstanding leadership from young people working in community arts and cultural development, particularly in reconciliation and social justice. It was established to honour the memory of Kirk Robson, who received the Council’s Young and Emerging Artists Initiative and was the Artistic Director of The Torch Project.
The Australia Council Awards 2015 Presentation was held at Carriageworks on 19th March 2015.
An Exhibition celebrating the 10 Award winners is at the Australia Council, Surry Hills 11 March – 8 May 2015
