Album of the Week – ‘Suspicion’ by The Tango Saloon

‘Suspicion’ by The Tango Saloon is Eastside Radio’s Album of the Week.

The fourth instalment from the Sydney powerhouse surprises audiences with the addition of fellow Sydney songstress Elana Stone to the mix.

The group have stepped up their game once again, taking the leap to predominantly feature Stone’s distinctive vocal styling’s, moving away from their instrumental tradition. Since their debut self titled release in 2005, the group have been developing their craft, seeing to fruition ‘Trasylvania’ (2008) and ‘Shadows and Fog’ (2012). Large scale would be an understatement with regard to the production of their back catalogue, with as many as 15 musicians on board to breath life into the cinematic scores by guitarist, composer and bandleader Julian Curwin. ‘Suspicion’ is no exception as Curwin steers the group to success, finding a balance between their signature gypsy jazz, tango and western styling’s and melding that with intricacies of the vocal tradition.

The Tango Saloon’s ‘Suspicion’ is available on iTunes, or at www.thetangosaloon.com.
