Out of Africa Charity Event
The residents, professionals and artists of the Northern Beaches Peninsula community have embarked upon a fundraising drive in support of the ongoing and horrific Ebola crisis taking place in Sierra Leone.
Through these events we will highlight members of the African Diaspora who reside on the Northern Beaches, showcase culinary and natural talents that enrich our community and strengthen the common link they share with the people of Sierra Leone in their time of need.
“Action Aid” is an Australian international aid NGO which is heading up this appeal. It was born out of the coming together of the former “Community Aid Abroad” and “Freedom From Hunger” charitable organisations.
The “Out of Africa Charity Event in Aid of Victims Of Ebola” will be held on Wed. 20th of May from 6:00pm at the Out of Africa Restaurant. Tickets are $50pp and proceeds will help to save lives that may otherwise be lost to this horrible disaster.
Guests will be greeted at the door and welcomed with a fragrant African Punch Cocktail to be followed by traditional canapés. A buffet of fine African cuisine created by celebrated Chef Hassan M’souli will delight patrons and help chase away those winter chills.
Along with the delectable tastes created by Chef M’souli, the night will be filled with the spirit of Africa in music and art and the chance to learn what is being done to support the victims of the ongoing Ebola crisis in faraway lands.
This event is proudly supported by the Mandela Legacy Trust, the Manly Community Centre, the three Peninsula Mayors of Pittwater, Warringah and Manly, Out of Africa Restaurant and local artists and naturopath, Rowena Robinson.
