THE LOWEDOWN 9TH JUNE WITH VIRGINIA LOWE
I was having one of those ‘not so fabulous days’ over the long weekend and I decided to put on some music. I chose a vinyl box set of three albums with the wonderful Ella Fitzgerald on vocals and Louis Armstrong on vocals and trumpet. Well talk about lift my mood! Suddenly I was transported to a better place and all seemed good with the world. I can still be amazed by the powerful and positive effect music can have!
All tracks were recorded in Los Angeles from August 1956 to August 1957. The lineup consisting of Oscar Peterson-piano, Herb Ellis – guitar, Ray Brown – bass, Buddy Rich and Louis Bellson – drums. Enjoy!
Then the fabulous Chich and the Soul Messengers are joining me in the studio for a chat and treating the listeners to some wonderful live music! Good times for all.
