Most people are either a cat person or a dog person or you can be an all-round animal lover, however if you happen to be on the cat's side then you are in for a weekend in paradise as over 400 top pedigree cats all come together for one big meet up, as the Sydney cat spectacular will be on.

For anyone searching for their next feline friend or just looking for a great family day out come along to see all the different breeds of cats and kittens. there will be international judges, and lots of cat product traders' stalls to get your pet a new favourite toy.

Another great event happening in our eastern suburbs is down at Bondi beach as art on the streets is back again for its annual event. Having started five years ago to attract more visitors to the beach area in these winter months, it has been a success every year for art lovers and for anyone who is looking for an enjoyable day out spectating some great works of art.

It is your opportunity to pick up unique works of art from 30 artists and photographers and be able to meet the artists and have the chance to pick up original pieces from as little as $30.

Visitors will be encouraged to contribute their own artistry to the day by filling the surrounding streets with chalk art.

The vibe will be funky and soulful with live music and entertainment, some of the artists confirmed are the BYO Social Club, a collective of local musicians who bring together sounds from an eclectic mix of genres and also Bondi resident Rosie Apps, whose humorous sketches of Bondi are popular with locals and visitors.

One of the most important issues that has an effect on everybody is our human rights.

This year the 'RightsTalk' Australians of the Year inspiring change in human rights event will show four Australians of the Year, who for the first time ever are all women.
The discussion will be led by Australian of the Year Rosie Batty. Each of these impressive Australians has an inspiring story to tell and is passionate about the human rights issues that drive them.

ABC journalist and presenter Annabel Crabb will be leading the discussion, and it will be broadcast live on ABC News 24. However if you don't just want to watch it on TV and want to take part in the discussion to let your questions and statements be heard then at this rights talk event is where you will want to be.

An event that should be held everywhere all the time: if you have questions on something that has caused you trouble or embarrassment, something nagging away from the news or current affairs, or something seemingly nonsensical that’s always puzzled you, then this is the event to let it all off your chest and find out.

Ignoramus Anonymous is a support group for anyone and everyone, for revelling in what we don’t know. It is a space to ask questions and receive support. A supportive space where not knowing and not understanding can be safely confessed as people will share their limitations of knowledge and understanding.

If you are looking for a great night of music and visual arts then Sydney's "Art of Music" that comes around every two years is back again this month, having started back in 2006. It's a top quality show that is also in aid of a great cause.

It is one of the most talked about fundraisers on the Sydney event circuit. It's going to be presented by Jenny Morris, the performances will combine both visual arts and music, as a group of Australia's top visual artists come together to create an original exhibition where each artist chooses an iconic Australian/NZ song to inspire an artwork.

The work is then auctioned at a gala dinner in the Art Gallery of New South Wales with the funds raised going to the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy charity who have been working hard since 1984 to promote and develop the understanding, training and practice of creative music therapy.

Some of the artists on the night are BILLIE MCCARTHY, DIESEL (and Lily Lizotte), JAMES REYNE, and JIMMY BARNES.

Sydney’s largest stormwater harvesting and water re-use facility, beautiful new landscaping, wetland habitats, and water cascades will be unveiled and the reuse project will be launched.

It will be a great day out for everyone as there will be entertainment, and fun activities for kids, including costume-making and a Taronga Park Zoo animal display.
