The New Thing: Hello from Chelsea D!

Hello to all Eastside devotees!

Chelsea D is my name (Or Chelsea Deeley to my mother), and I’m ecstatic to be taking the reins of our resident new music program: The New Thing!

Though I can hardly contain my excitement, I am also incredibly nervous to be stepping into the shoes of the experienced musical novice and all-round nice dude that is Sammy Al. He’s given so much of his time to Eastside over the last few years and he has made The New Thing a one stop shop for the best new jazz, as well as other other utter delights from within our Eastside spectrum.

Here’s wishing him all the best in his endeavours! We’ll miss you Sammy!

For those who don’t know, I myself have been a part of Eastside for almost two years; working as the Music Director for a time, helping coordinate the 2014 Radiothon, and, since April this year, presenting the Friday Nightshift.

Hopefully all of this will be enough to bring you guys snapshots of the best new releases, as well as give you an entertaining start to the week.
