Here on "Community Billboard" we love to inform you about any markets or fairs, big or small happening around Sydney, cause who doesn't love the atmosphere and special findings you get from strolling around at a market day.

If you are interested in the stallholders side of work, everything related to markets and fairs will be happening over a two day event at Sydney's "Markets and Fairs Expo".
Maybe you are already a stallholder or are thinking of setting up shop and bringing your business to the markets than if so this is a must-attend event.

The Markets & Fairs Expo is the ideal venue for
markets, fairs, festivals and events to exhibit and network with potential stallholders, equipment suppliers, wholesale suppliers to exhibit, stallholders and potential stallholders have the opportunity to explore the industry and to network amongst each other and suppliers plus there will be talks and information on regulations, social marketing and other sales techniques.

If you just can't get enough of markets and love everything about them, or if you are in the process of bringing your niche in the market idea to the customers, then this has everything to suit you.

If you like gazing into the starry sky at night to take in all the wonderful sights, be part of something special that's not your ordinary night of star gazing.

As part of the international year of light Sydney will be attempting to break a Guinness world record for the most people looking through telescopes.

To be part of a Guinness world record and to be informed by the experts as to what exactly you're looking at this is a fun evening for all ages while also learning about the stars above us.

Each participant gets a telescope and a certificate to take home, this is one for the memory book.

When: Friday 21st August, 7pm - 9pm.

Where: Sydney Observatory, 1003 Upper Fort St, Millers Point, 2000.

If you are looking to spruce up your wardrobe from your winter season clothes and getting ready for summer, head along to the award winning "Round She Goes" indoor fashion market. It is dedicated to quality vintage clothing, preloved designer fashion, accessories and jewellery from many different local stallholders.

Featuring over 60 stalls with pieces sourced internationally the one day event is sure to be full of bustling bargains and shop till you drop atmosphere.
The "Round She Goes" market travels nationally giving emerging jewellery makers a place to get their name out there, also bringing flower workshops and pop up nail art workshops.

A one day event for you to find that something you don't come across in your everyday shops, where you can negotiate the price and even if you want to clear out some of your own wardrobe and become a stallholder for a day using the tips you gathered from the above event "Markets & Fairs Expo".

When: Saturday, 22nd August, 10am - 3pm.

Have a healthy day out along with the pure joy of getting through fun obstacles, at Sydney's "Little Big Dash".

Families are the target audience in this event which promises adventure, fun, sound and colour. There are 9 obstacle stations to navigate in the 3km course consisting of tyres, balls, bubbles, ladders, beams, nets, paint and more.

This event is all about releasing that inner-child while having heaps of fun helping each other run or crawl, climb and slide through each stage of the course. If taking part in the obstacle course isn't what your looking for you can also enjoy activities in the "Little Big Dash Village" before or after the course, which will include a free Weet-Bix breakfast, AFL action zone, and a mini cargo crawl.

If you are one of the many fitness lovers out there and are feeling up for a real challenge that will definitely give you a proud feeling of conquering once you have completed it, consider Sydney's "Tower Stair Challenge".

An event in aid of a great cause, as funds raised will go to Giant Steps, who contribute to the understanding of autism through research and publications with services such as private speech, occupational and music therapies to educational support, parent training and much more.

If you are feeling up for the challenge of climbing over 1504 Steps & 309 metres of vertical height to get to the top of the Sydney Tower Eye, which is the same height as the Eiffel Tower and four times the height of the Sydney Opera House. Instead of taking the usual elevator put on your running shoes and complete a charity event that you will never forget with the fasciniating views to take in once you reach the top.

And not to worry if running up the stairs isn't your cup of tea but you still want to take part, there are several categories you can choose to take part in for walkers and also for runners/climbers, plus a fancy dress category if you want to go all out on the day.
Whenever you look up at the Sydney Eye from then on you will know that you got to the top with only your two feet while raising funds and awareness for families all over Australia.

Maybe you are a busker on the street starting out your journey of being an artist or maybe you are playing in your local venues getting your name out there.

Well if you love what you do but are just not confident on the paperwork side of the business, then a workshop to help you with all the information you need in making your work a business and be provided with helpful legal perspectives "Arts as a Business" will be on next week as part of "Arts Law Centre of Australia's" programme of events.

The workshop is suitable for artists from all art forms and stages of their career it will cover issues including copyright, being an artist as a business and legal resources for setting up artist run initiatives.

If you have ever found yourself wondering or worried about questions such as how do you create an arts business?, do you pay tax on that income?, do you need a business name registration? or can you trade using the same name as someone else? then this is the event where you find it all out.
Instead of listening to hearsay from friends find out the facts to put you one step closer to achieving your dream.

An event that moves beyond the boundaries of traditional business events and brings together storytellers, inventors, dreamers, artists, musicians, technologists, writers and scientists - to learn, connect and explore the concept of wonder, is Sydney's "Wired for Wonder".

The two day event is back again to explore the concept of in and out across technology, life, business, science and awe. Bringing an impressive cast of speakers to lead the conversation and also a series of interactive, themed workshops and engaging master class sessions including 'no dancefloor' dance classes, 'how to' creative learning in collaboration with the "School of Life" and speaker close-up's, which will provide attendees with opportunities to interact with the keynote speakers on a more personal level.

Some of the speakers are author, futurist and visionary technologist Ben Hammersley, most widely known as the inventor of the word ‘Podcast’, and Guy Kawasaki, formerly advisor to the Motorola business unit of Google and chief evangelist of Apple.
