Ahead of his appearances at Soulfest and The Basement in Sydney during October, Los Angelese-bred saxophonist and cosmic cat Kamasi Washington talked to The Groovescooter Show on Eastside Radio about the recording of his incredible and aptly named 3-disc album, The Epic. Washington has worked with everyone from Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, George Duke and Chaka Khan, to Snoop Dogg, Nas and Flying Lotus. In this 90 minute podcast you’ll also hear numerous tunes from the new LP released Brainfeeder label – many of them clocking in at over 10 minutes.

Kamasi Washington plays Soulfest (alongside Mary J Blige, Charlie Wilson, Lauryn Hill and many others) in The Domain on Saturday October 24. He has also announced his own side-show at The Basement on Thursday October 22.
