Yes, let’s… High Tea with Jazz Jam Album Launch Party
On the 5th of December 2015, the new album from LL will be launched at the Alpha Gallery, 226 Union Street, Newtown at the “Yes, let’s… High Tea with Jazz Jam Album Launch Party”.
LL will perform their new album in its entirety from 8pm. Following on from LL will be the jazz jam, where all adventurous musicians and singers can jam with some of Sydney’s top jazz musicians. All playing levels are welcome.
LL will be signing copies of their new album on the night, there’ll be lucky door prizes and other great bonuses, so it’s an event not to be missed.
Yes, let’s… is a live studio album by the Sydney jazz duo, LL, with Anne-Lise Larsen on vocals and Scott Leishman on guitar. It was recorded and mixed at Zen Studios in St Peters over three sessions from late 2014 to July 2015 by Jeff Lee and mastered by Ash Maklad at Supernova Sound in August 2015. All the tracks are single takes, creating a sense of intimacy and jazz authenticity in the final product.
While improvisation is intrinsic to LL, the songs remain tangible to the casual listener, yet the more discerning jazz lover will hear all sorts of unplanned points of interest. What remains constant, is the rapport between the two. Anne-Lise comments on the recording “You can actually hear my smile as I sing, thinking what an incredible musician I have here”.
