green space – all in your head?

euc2

Where do you go when the city traffic, noise and mayhem is doing your head in? is it a pond, a stretch of grass, or a favourite tree? These every day sanctuaries are becoming rarer in Sydney as the press for more housing and roads pushes local councils into rezoning and developers into big building projects. But human’s need nature to maintain any sort of sanity. Today on the show Associate Professor Linda Corker from UNSW will join TEC green space campaigner Dave Burgess for a chat about whether Sydney will remain liveable if we don’t start championing our parks and green open spaces. And what you can do about it.

We’ll also be playing a new song from One Million Women, You’re The Voice, with the single’s producer Ken Francis coming in to tell us how Deni Hines, Wendy Matthews, Melinda Schneider, Ursula Yovich and Claudia Karvan came together to transform John Farnham’s hit from the 1980s into a climate change awareness anthem for the future….

Join me, Ruth Hessey, with Riley Lavelle Long, between 4 and 6pm today for Monday Drive – your window into everything green and inspiring happening in the world today.
