If you find yourself thinking of different ways for the kids to be more active outside, a happy, healthy and informative activity that takes place every week for both parents and children is the Circles of Learning - Garden Circles.

Every week the Garden Circles offer a free practical experience in the garden and tips and hints for children’s whole wellbeing. An occasion for you to have fun growing food with your children by living a healthy lifestyle. When parents attend they learn how to grow healing herbs and organic fruits and vegetables.

There is no need to worry of the little ones not having fun as the mornings are full of games, creative activities and lots of tactile digging and planting activities, as they learn to respect nature and the environment. A perfect solution to have more greens being ate at the dinner table as there will be a story to tell of how they came from the ground to the plate.

Some of you may have heard of the Color Run in the past, where you go for a run splashing yourself and others in crazy colours to make it an unforgettable jog with lots of fun. This Saturday The Color Run Night event will be on to let you glow and run.

It has been said that it is the happiest 5k on the planet, it is a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness and individuality, no wonder it has hosted more than 300 events in 50+ countries.

If you don't like the thought of getting up and going for a run in the sweltering heat but want to take part in a fun run then this is the ideal opportunity. Think of it as a rave populated by super-athletic types.
An evening of energetic excitement while also keeping healthy, and of course you can do it all with a good cause in my mind, The Color Run encourages everyone to support either one of their nominated charities - Starlight Children's Foundation Australia, Cure Brain Cancer and The Cancer Council.

It may seem as a tourist themed event but how many of us pass the Sydney Harbour every day, look out upon it and actually know the history of the great sights?

A day to learn some local history while also having a fun ride on Sydney Heritage Fleet's 1902 Steam Tug Waratah or 1902 Steam Launch Lady Hopetoun.

Sydney Harbour Secrets will bring you on a three hour leisurely cruise around the harbour alongside a friendly and experienced tour guide, who will take you to a range of important and interesting sites, including Goat Island, Garden Island, Mort's Dock, Woolwich Dock, Spectacle, Snapper and Cockatoo Islands.
You will be given with detail the historical significance of these islands and what they mean to the people of Sydney.

A great arts event with perfect relaxing atmosphere will be on next week, if you feel like grabbing a rug, packing a picnic and celebrating your love for poetry under the stars, head along to the annual Poet's Picnic.

For an evening of witty, nostalgic and evocative poetry join ABC radio presenter Simon Marnie who will present this fantastic free event. There will be a children's chalk poetry workshop, roving performers and best yet for all you Eastside Radio listeners there will be live jazz.

You will have the pleasure of hearing from established and new poets such as - Zohab Zee Khan, Melinda Smith, Geoffrey Lehmann, Robert Adamson, Pip Smith, Elias Greig. This year you can also pre-book a picnic basket, so all you need to bring is yourself just to make it that extra bit relaxing.

If you have always wanted to eat olives in Greece or crepes in France but haven't got the chance to get yourself over to Europe, an event that will be bringing Europe's food and wine to Sydney will be The European Laneway, Darling.

As part of the March into Merivale Festival this European night will have a wide range of delicious restaurants, bringing you the flavours of Europe. Now in it's eighth year March into Merivale will be holding it's five week food and wine festival.

Covering the work in the kitchen will be Ash St. Cellar, Felix, Uccello, Bistrode CBD, Lorraine’s Patisserie, Palings, and The Paddington.
On the drinks overview with wines from every region will be master sommelier Franck Moreau to let you know what you are sipping, where it is from and what it goes best with, so you can match your food and wine just right.

One of our proud sponsors The Foundry616 will be having an artist's debut night at their venue, next week. This artist is certainly not making his debut in Sydney as the very talented and experienced composer and pianist Sean Wayland will be performing.

Sydney-born, New York City-based Sean Wayland will leave you wanting more as he is highly renowned for his confident and playful techniques and ability to mix jazz and pop music.

Sean has successfully toured internationally, with many acclaimed artists, while recording, writing and working with artist such Madeleine Peyroux, Wayne Krantz and Jon Gordon to name a few.
He has recorded more than 14 critically acclaimed CDs so you are sure to be in for a memorable experience.
Joining Sean will be some of Sydney's best jazz musicians as Brett Hirst will be on bass, Gordon Rytmeister on drums, Dale Barlow on the saxophone and the lovely voice of Virna Sanzone on vocals.

On last weeks community billboard we told you about the opening of the latest, most see pop up bar in Sydney which is the H2O: Water Bar. A reflective, glassy glistening installation that allows you to sample a variety of water sourced from diverse regions of Australia.

Over two weeks there will be a series of diverse talks, discussions and performances for you to learn more about water. One of the interesting events taking place will be The Future of Water. To find out more about a subject that is so important to all of us, this is an opportunity to learn what the effects of climate change will be, what will be the water systems of the future and much more, as you join a panel of expert commentators on the challenges and innovations to come.

Some of the speakers on the night will be Robyn Williams who is a science journalist and broadcaster and Gay Hawkins a research professor at the Institute for Culture and Society of Western Sydney University to name a few. After the discussion there will be a 45 minute film screening of Planet Water.

For all you wine connoisseurs out there who cant make the trip to the famous wine regions, not to worry as next weekend there will be a fantastic variety of wines to sip and savour at this years Sydney Cellar Door Festival.

Sydney's biggest outdoor wine event will be held over three days in the heart of the city, surrounded by the best regional New South Wales wine and food producers. There will be an array of food stalls and an extensive list of wineries, giving you the chance to explore a range of local vineyard brands and to talk to the producers first hand.

An event to taste wines from the Mudgee, Orange and the Hunter wineries, while also treating yourself to some of the specially selected Sydney restaurants to pair with the Vintner's best wines.

One of Sydney’s most famous and exciting precincts will be holding its very own festival next weeks, as The Kings Cross festival will focus on three central themes – food, film and family.

The precinct is about much more than just nightclubs and pubs. There is a vibrant and diverse community, being a strong foodie destination with a healthy artistic and cultural scene, this two day festival is all about celebrating the community spirit and good family fun.

There will be lots of different attracctions throughout the festival such as the highly regarded pop-up gallery, the LOCO Project which we have highlighted in a previous community billboard. It will also be your chance to see a free moonlight cinema take over Beare Park. There will be an exciting opportunity for kids to get up close and personal with the fun and furry creatures from Taronga Zoo’s mobile petting zoo.
