Something Else 16.4.10 Joseph Allen Shea & Brenda O’Connor

It was my pleasure today to feature two individuals who, as well as being very creative in their own right have devoted a particular amount of blood sweat and tears to ensuring the work of creative individuals in Sydney is able to get the exposure it deserves.

Joseph Allen Shea, Curator of Monster Children Gallery in Darlinghurst, also runs his own Zine and Book publishing house Izrock Pressings, writes, and exhibits his own work- bold graphic prints, equal parts pop and social commentary.

He’s published books by Kill Pixie, Jonathan Zawada, Markus Oakley + More

Fashetical zine by Johnathon Zawada in conjunction with Izrock Pressings

Secondly I was joined by Brenda O’Connor, founder of Sydney’s newest premier artist run space, Jane Street Gallery in Darlinghurst. She is looking for students and to submit proposals for special gallery rates- Regularly, the cost to rent the gallery for the week is $1100. From June 15-July 15 she is offering students a discounted rate of $850.
