Protest Songs and Prizes for Subscribers!

This episode of ‘The Last Waltz’ was a very special one indeed. As we leap full swing into Radiothon Week, we open up the phone lines and call on our beloved listeners to subscribe and keep the Eastside dream alive! The theme for the week is ‘Rebel With A Cause’ – a perfect description of community radio which exists to represent every member of society. ‘Rebel With A Cause’ is a dream theme for a folk DJ. This week I played protest songs and political anthems! Many old, some new, some from Australia and some from around the world. From Bob Dylan to Paul Kelly via Janis Ian and Anohni, we listen to lyrics that inspire and melodies that were made to make change. Enjoy!
