ARTS WEDNESDAY 26 MAY 2010

Bliss Jensen will bring us Now Showing at about 9:45 am and Ed Lippmann is back in town for the last episode of Sydney By Design for the current series. It was a disappointment not to have spoken to him in Shanghai last week, but we’ll catch up this week. As yet, I’m not sure if he’ll be in the studio or on the phone.

My special guest this week is Dr Lisa Murray. Lisa has been a historian at the Council of the City of Sydney since 2001 and is currently the Acting City Historian and Chair of the Dictionary of Sydney and it is the splendid Dictionary of Sydney that is the topic of our discussion. If you have the time between now and the conversation tomorrow morning, please check out www.dictionaryofsydney.org  – in fact check it out any time.

I received a couple of CDs as a gift this week, featuring trumpet and other brass instruments and that seemed like a call to play trumpet music + other music from other instruments which are blown. I’ve had a lot of fun selecting the music and am sure you will enjoy listening to it.

As always, I look forward to your company.
