A Recap of Live @ 505 – The Joseph Tawadros Trio
A breathtaking performance was given at our most recent Live at 505 with the Joseph Tawardros Trio. They came, they saw and they conquered not only the stage but the massive crowd that came out for this grand event. The audience was taken on an adventure through Egyptian melodies as Joseph Tawadros strummed his oud (Arabic lute), his younger brother James Tawadros tapped on the req (Egyptian tambourine), Matt McMahon stroked the keys on the piano, and last minute edition to the night Phil Slater blew his trumpet.
Beautiful melodies emanated from Venue 505 as Joseph played tracks from his various albums including his latest Aria Award winning album ‘Concerto of the Great Sea’. Stories of his experiences in his travels around the world were told and dedications to lost loved ones were made through song. The audience was entranced as the sounds of the oud, req, piano and trumpet melded into a symphony of instrumentals.
Joseph also showed his sense of humour and revealed a little of the brotherly comradery between himself and James Tawardros as he made jokes in between songs, eliciting laughter from the audience.
All in all The Joseph Tawadros Trio created a joyous, entertaining night that will forever remain in our memories.
The next Live @ 505 will feature Sirens Big Band, Thursday December 13. For more info click here.
