Ned Washington (1901-1976)pictured left was one of the lyricists of his generation………..beautiful lyrics featured on this weeks playlist(NW ) and because of his contract with MGM Pictures his scores were part of his legacy.Nominated for 11 Academy Awards and recipient of 2 his works inclusion in this weeks playlist is more than justified and the artists who sang his songs add the flavour to his great words and the melodies of his writing partners.And in 2011 having seen her show at the beautiful State Theatre in Sydney,K D Lang from her early country roots songs to her versions of standards and the songs on her latest album “Sing It Loud” including a fabulous version of LRB’s “Reminiscing”she more than de3serves her place on the latest “Taste of Honey ” playlist……..enjoy your music from “the soundtrack of my life”……..and Eastside 89.7FM.
